These terms are the agreement between you and us when you join Second Act. They're written to be read, so please read them before you pay. If anything is unclear, email info@theshift.one and ask before you join.
Second Act is run by The Shift, a trading name of Crown MPS Ltd, company number 17152166, Suite 308, 6 Wood Crescent, London, W12 7GS (“we”, “us”). The programme is led by Judith Shekoni. You can contact us at info@theshift.one.
Second Act is a live group programme of thirteen weeks plus an orientation week. Each round's start date is confirmed in writing when you join. Groups are limited to twelve people. It includes:
Dates and times are UK time. If we need to move a session for a good reason, such as illness, we'll tell you as early as we can and reschedule it.
Second Act costs £3,000 paid in full, or three monthly payments of £1,150 (£3,450 in total). Prices include any VAT that applies. Payment is by card through Stripe.
On the payment plan, the first payment is taken when you join and the next two on the same date in each of the following two months. The payment plan is a way of paying for the whole programme, not a monthly subscription you can stop. If a payment fails, we'll let you know, and we may pause your access to sessions and materials until it's paid. The remaining payments stay due, except where section 4 or section 9 applies.
You have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of payment. Upon payment, you ask us to start the programme straight away. Therefore, if you cancel within those 14 days, you will be refunded minus the part of the programme you've already received. If you're on the payment plan, we'll cancel the remaining payments.
To cancel, please email judi@theshift.one.
After 14 days, payments are not refundable and any payment plan instalments remain due, except where section 9 applies or the law gives you another right.
The aim of Second Act is that by the end of week thirteen your project is out in the world: where real people know about it and can respond to it. If you do the work and it isn't out in the world by then, you can do the whole programme again with the next group, free.
To qualify, you need to have:
Email us within 30 days of the end of week thirteen to claim it. You can use this guarantee once. It gives you a free place on a later group, not a refund.
Your free place covers the live lessons, group sessions, co-working sessions and the private group. It does not include the one-to-one sessions.
Live lessons and group sessions are recorded, so you can catch up if you miss one. Missed sessions aren't refunded. If you need to move your one-to-one, give us at least 24 hours' notice and we'll rearrange it. Without that notice, the session counts as used.
Second Act is personal development and education. It is not therapy, counselling, or medical or psychological treatment, and it doesn't replace them. If you're living with serious trauma or struggling with your mental health, please work alongside a qualified professional and speak to your GP. You're responsible for your own choices during and after the programme. If we believe the programme isn't safe or right for you at a particular time, we may suggest you pause and get other support.
We'll teach you the method, support you and work with you. What you get out of it depends on you, your circumstances and the work you put in. We don't promise any particular income or result.
If we have to cancel Second Act, or cancel your place for a reason that isn't your fault, we'll refund what you've paid for the part of the programme you haven't received.
Second Act works because people can speak honestly. What others share in sessions and in the group stays in the group. Please be respectful. If someone is abusive, harasses others or shares another member's personal information outside the group, we may remove them from the programme.
Group sessions are recorded and shared only with members of your group. You can keep your camera off and use first names only. We won't use your name, image, words or story in our marketing without your written permission. One-to-one sessions are not shared. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your personal information.
The lessons, booklets, recordings, meditations and guides belong to us. They're for your personal use. Please don't share, copy, sell or republish them.
The programme uses Zoom and other online tools, including AI tools. You're responsible for your own accounts on those services and any costs, and for how you use them.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit. Otherwise, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid for Second Act. We're not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable when you joined, or for business losses.
If you're unhappy with anything, email info@theshift.one. We'll reply within five working days and try to put it right.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
